UPK Family Support Navigator
The UPK Family Support Navigator works with Weld County families to find and enroll in child care provider programs that are connected with the Colorado Universal Preschool Program (UPK). The Navigator will become familiar with the funding sources available for care and the number of hours per week that children in varying circumstances can access care. The Navigator will be available to answer parent and caregiver questions about UPK and to help families make application and then access care openings. In some instances the Navigator will make a warm hand-off between families and child care providers. This role is part of a larger staff team that is establishing UPK in Weld County.
UPK Child Care Provider Coordinator
The UPK Child Care Provider Coordinator works with Weld County child care providers to sign-up for and participate in the Colorado Universal Preschool Program (UPK). The Coordinator will become familiar with the process by which child care providers become eligible for UPK participation, the program participation and reporting required of providers, and the system by which providers are paid by the State of Colorado. The Coordinator will be available to answer general provider questions about UPK and to assist them in registering and for ongoing participation. In some instances the Coordinator may make a warm hand-off between families and child care providers. This role is part of a larger staff team that is establishing UPK in Weld County.
United Way – Child Care Licensing & Support Navigator
The Child Care Specialist supports the Child Care Coordinator and the work of the Children’s Team. Specific responsibilities include; supporting individuals seeking a child care license, supporting existing child care programs with technical assistance to reach a rating of Level 2 in Colorado Shines, assist programs in sharing available child care openings with parents seeking care.
