The slate of 2020-21 board of director officers are: Randy Watkins (chairman, executive committee; finance committee; governance committee), Sara Seely (chairwoman-elect, executive committee; chairwoman, collective impact council; governance committee), Mike Bond, treasurer, executive committee; chairman, finance committee; facilities committee), Tim Brynteson, vice chairman, executive committee; Collective Impact council/aging well), Deirdre Pilch, vice chairwoman, executive committee; humanitarian selection committee) and Patty Gates, vice chairwoman, executive committee; governance committee; Weld Recovers Fund committee). Gates is also UWWC’s new chairwoman of Resource Development.

“Any nonprofit organization’s strength depends on the leadership, skills, wisdom and commitment of its board of directors,” Truswell said. “We do not exist without the contributions of donors and volunteers. Our donors can be assured that their investments are spent wisely thanks to our staff and board of directors.”
Board committee chairs and liaisons at UWWC for 2020-21 include: Leah Bornstein (chairwoman, finance committee), Nina Duran-Gutierrez (chairwoman, Reading Great by 8 council; collective impact council/Reading Great by 8; co-chairwoman, Live United Celebration committee), Angel Flores (chairman, Weld’s Way Home executive council; diversity and equity committee), Tobias Guzman (chairman, diversity and equity committee), Dylan Hockett (co-chairman, Collective Impact; housing stability council), Jim Becklenberg (facilities committee).
Board member engagement include: Matt Anderson (facilities committee), Julie Cozad (Weld Recovers Fund committee; UWWC representative on Hunger Free Colorado), Lori Gama (marketing and communications consultant and liaison), Evan Hyatt (finance committee; facilities committee), Justin Martinez (resource development council; auction committee), Steve Moreno (Weld Project Connect council), Tom Norton (Weld Recovers Fund committee; Resource Development; leadership development), Brian Schiller (Collective Impact council; recreation scholarship committee) and Jenny Scholz (finance committee).
Recent additions to the board of directors are Dylan Hockett and Matt Anderson. Hockett and Anderson will assist their fellow board members and UWWC staff in helping Weld County residents in the areas of early childhood development, youth success, household stability, older adults/healthy aging and access to services.

Hockett is the regional director for security at Banner Health, supporting 11 hospitals across five states. Anderson is the founder of Ancon II Constructors, a general contracting firm that specializes in commercial, industrial and multi-family development and construction throughout Weld County.
“We are very excited that Dylan Hockett and Matt Anderson are joining the board of directors. They bring great leadership, commitment and expertise to our organization, and join a remarkable group of volunteers on the board,” said Jeannine Truswell, president and CEO of UWWC.
