2026-27 Grant Application Cycle

Introduction

United Way of Weld County is pleased to announce the opening of the 2026-2027 Request for Proposal Grant Funding Application Process.

United Way is honored to work in partnership with you, the nonprofit community, to reach out and help those in need and to bring positive influence into communities where it is needed most. When we are UNITED, we have a greater chance of achieving the common good.

Mission

United Way of Weld County builds powerful partnerships to bring about lasting community-wide change.

Vision

We envision a community where people are cared for. Where people have what they need to live happy, fulfilling, and meaningful lives. A community where support networks are in place and, when they’re not, one where people can turn to a strong nonprofit network when they need help getting through an unexpected challenge. We want a community that has engaged citizens and businesses. One where people can confidently give back – whether through volunteering or donating – and know that their time and money will go towards doing the most good.

Collaborative Applications

All agencies included in a collaborative application must become an “Accredited Charity” with the Better Business Bureau before any funding is released. While only one agency or organization will submit the application, all participating agencies are expected to actively engage in Collective Impact Work.

Collective Impact

What is Collective Impact?

A Collective Impact framework is grounded in the understanding that no single organization can solve our community’s most complex challenges alone. Moving beyond traditional partnerships or collaborations, Collective Impact requires a sustained commitment and deep investment from multiple stakeholders working toward a shared goal. Through this aligned effort, we can create meaningful, lasting change across the community.

Collective Impact is most effective when we prioritize what is best for the people we serve, rather than the individual interests of our organizations. It calls on us to work together not as standalone agencies, but as a unified group committed to addressing the conditions and challenges impacting our community’s well-being and making measurable progress.

In Collective Impact, success is measured by meaningful, lasting change. The goal isn’t to keep organizations busy; it’s to reduce the problems that make our work necessary in the first place. Ideally, our collective efforts lead to a future where fewer people need our services, signaling that systems are healthier and more equitable. True success means building solutions that endure, even as our roles evolve over time.

Funding Investment Priorities

Cradle to Career

Every child and youth in our community has the support, skills, and opportunities to grow from early learning through adulthood, becoming capable and contributing citizens prepared for lifelong success.

Household Stability

Every household in our community is safe, secure, and financially stable, with access to the resources and opportunities needed to thrive, ensuring that all households can maintain housing, meet basic needs, and plan for a sustainable future.

Application Process

Initial Screening

Only completed applications, submitted electronically, by the required deadline and with all required attachments, will be considered for funding. Funding is not guaranteed.

Grant Availability

Organizations must complete separate applications if requesting funding in more than one funding investment priority but not more than two applications in total.

Grant Review

Members of the community, United Way Staff and the Board of Directors will form a committee to review and score applications.

Grant Award

Grant awards are paid to organizations on a bi-annual basis (October & March) provided annual reports are submitted in a timely manner. Failure to submit an annual report and maintain your Accredited Charity status will result in an organization being ineligible to receive funding the following year.

Assistance

Questions regarding the application process or assistance may be submitted to Ty Lamm at tlamm@unitedway-weld.org.

Program Investment Grant

The Program Investment Grant awards a minimum of $25,000 per grant, with a maximum total award of $50,000 per applying agency or organization. Funded programs must address a community-identified need using evidence-based or service-based strategies and commit to collecting and contributing data aligned with 2 community-wide measurable outcomes.
