The Housing Navigation Center’s seasonal overnight shelter, operated by United Way of Weld County, will conclude services for the winter season on April 30, 2025. The final night guests can stay at the shelter will be Tuesday, April 29. The shelter team will continue to work towards the overnight shelter reopening in the fall of 2025 to provide services during the coldest months of the year.
Since November of 2024 the overnight shelter has served as a lifeline for individuals experiencing homelessness, offering warmth, safety, and stability throughout the winter. As the season ends, the team at the Housing Navigation Center will work to ensure a safe and respectful transition for those impacted by the shelter closing.
“We know how important the shelter is to those without a home, especially in the colder months,” said Ernest Cienfuegos-Baca, Vice President of Community Impact at United Way of Weld County. “It costs approximately $75 per night to provide one person with a safe place to sleep, a warm meal, and basic support services. Community support helps make that possible.”
United Way welcomes donations to help offset shelter operating costs. Every contribution helps keep individuals safe and supported during times of crisis.
