The committee reading the grant applications and deciding nonprofit distribution includes UWWC board members Julie Cozad, Patty Gates and Tom Norton, WCF board members Junior Barrios, Julie Constance and Scott Young and community-at-large participants Nomie Ketterling and Christine Richardson. “Our Weld County community has, once again, been very generous,” Gates said. “It is gratifying to play a small part in helping local nonprofits meet the increased need that is a direct result of dealing with COVID-19. I am honored to be a member of the Weld Recovers Distribution Committee.” Young said: “It’s not easy making decisions that we have to make, but it feels wonderful just to be part of a group that is making major impactful and sustaining decisions that are for the betterment of Weld County. I just wish we would be able to benefit all that is needed.”
The fund is still open and accepting applications on a rolling basis. The next deadline for nonprofit applications is Tuesday, May 5, with Round 3 distributions being decided by the committee on May 8.
