The next deadline for nonprofit applications of the Weld Recovers Fund: COVID-19 Relief funding will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday (May 5). The funding committee will decide the third round of distributions on May 8. Thirteen nonprofits in Weld County received $87,000 in the first round of funding, and the second round of awards will be announced this week.
United Way of Weld County (UWWC) and the Weld Community Foundation (WCF) launched the fund in March to provide financial resources to charitable organizations in Weld County that are involved in supporting populations affected by the coronavirus outbreak.
If agencies have already applied during the first two rounds of distribution, their application will be considered during round three, and they do not need to apply again. They are welcome to send any updates (1 to 2 paragraphs) they believe the committee should know about to serita@unitedway-weld.org.
The committee reading the grant applications and deciding nonprofit distribution include UWWC board members, WCF board members, and community-at-large participants. They are Junior Barrios (WCF), Julie Constance (WCF), Scott Young (WCF), Julie Cozad (UWWC), Patty Gates (UWWC), Tom Norton (UWWC), Nomie Ketterling (community representative), and Christine Richardson (community representative).
