Below is a list of the Volunteer projects available to date. Grab your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to help participate in this fantastic volunteer event!

1. A Woman’s Place –

A Woman’s Place mission is to shelter and help empower victims/survivors of domestic abuse to become safe, secure, and self-reliant; and through education and collaboration to mobilize our community to help prevent domestic violence.

Project: A Woman’s Place is requesting 10 volunteers to help with landscaping projects.

Project Dates: Friday, June 15th  – Saturday, June 16th (ALREADY FILLED)
Project Time: 9am-Noon

 

2. Brigit’s Bounty Community Resources –

BBCR is a non-profit community service organization that has been helping residents of Frederick, Firestone, and Dacono improve their neighborhoods through community gardening, healthy food access and educational opportunities for children since 2009. 

Project: Brigit’s Bounty is requesting 12 volunteers to help with its orchard revitalization project; volunteers will help remove dead fruit trees and plant new ones.

Project Dates: Friday, June 15th and/or Saturday, June 16th
Project Time: 9am-Noon


3. Catholic Charities-Guadalupe Shelter –

The Guadalupe Shelter is a nonprofit that provides support and advocacy services to people in need including an overnight and transitional shelter.

Project: The Guadalupe Shelter is requesting 6 volunteers to prep and paint the men’s dorms.

Project Dates: Friday, June 15th (ALREADY FILLED) –  Saturday, June 16th
Project Time: 9am-Noon

 


4. Community Gardens at the Clay Center of Northern Colorado –

Home of an eclectic mix of Greeley residents, clients of Schaefer Enterprises, Envision, and young families, the gardens at the Clay Center have raised 250 pounds of produce. The garden has small raised beds, big harvests and is located in the beautiful Sunrise neighborhood.

Project: The Community Gardens are requesting 10 volunteers to help with maintenance and revitalization. Some of the specific task will include painting the greenhouse and some benches, re-stacking brick barriers for raised beds, adding soil amendments to the beds, weeding walkways, general trash pick-up, and removing outdated raised bed end caps.

Project Dates: Friday, June 15th (ALREADY FILLED) – Saturday, June 16th (ALREADY FILLED)
Project Time: 9am-Noon

5. Connections for Independent Living –

Connections for Independent Living serve people with disabilities in Northern Colorado, providing advocacy, support, and education.

Project: Connections for Independent living is requesting 5 volunteers to help work outside to landscape, weed, and plant small plants.

Project Date: Friday, June 15th

Project Time: 9am-Noon

6. Eaton Area Community Center –

Project: The Eaton Area Community Center is requesting 10 volunteers to help pick up trash, and clean walkways around property.

7. Glad Tidings Church –

Project: Glad Tidings Church is requesting 6 volunteers to help with painting trim on windows and eves, and to help clean the church.

Project Dates: Saturday, June 16th

8. Greeley-Evans School District 6 – Centennial Elementary School

Greeley-Evans School District 6 serves more than 22,000 students in the communities of Greeley and Evans, Colorado. They have 27 district-operated schools and six charter schools. Click HERE to watch an overview video.

Project: Centennial Elementary School is requesting 15 volunteers to help re-paint curbs, rake lawns, spread mulch and other landscaping projects.

11. Immigrant and Refugee Center of Northern Colorado

In 2017, the Immigrant and Refugee Center of Northern Colorado began as a combined operation between Right to Read of Weld County and the Global Refugee Center. Becoming one, larger organization made sense for a variety of reasons, but it was the opportunity to provide further services to our clients that made the decision easy. Their mission is to empower refugees and immigrants, connect communities, and advocate for successful integration.

Project: IRCNOCO is requesting 20+ volunteers to help remove old carpet and prep for new flooring.

Project Date: Friday, June 15th and/or Saturday, June 16th
Project Time: 9am-Noon

12. LAM Ministries –

Loved-ones Against Meth (LAM) Ministries teaches people with various addictions, how to live a life free of addiction, as we minister Love to them.To Rescue, Educate and Restore addicts with their families (loved-ones).

Project: LAM Ministries is requesting 6 volunteers to do painting and landscaping work.

13. Poudre River Trail –

The Poudre River Trail is 21 miles of a well maintained paved pathway for walking, cycling, running, roller-blading and more.

Project: The Poudre River Trail is requesting 10 volunteers to map portions of the trail and complete some small maintenance work.

14. Private Residence –

Mrs. Bowlin recently relocated to a new residence.

Project: Mrs. Bowlin recently relocated and is requesting 2 volunteers to assist her in moving boxes and arranging her belongings.

Project Dates: Friday, June 15th and/or Saturday, June 16th
Project Time: 9am-Noon

15. RSVP of Weld County–

For more than 44 years, RSVP Weld County has devoted its energy to community service in Weld County.

Project: RSVP is requesting 6 volunteers to help sort and pack up Veteran Stand Down Day supplies in the RSVP garage.

Project Date: Friday, June 15th
Project Time: 9am-Noon

16. SAVA –

SAVA’s direct victim services provide a safety net to individuals impacted by sexual violence. SAVA’s services offer accessible, inclusive therapy and support services to victims regardless of income, gender, sexual orientation, immigration status or any other characteristic.

Project: SAVA is requesting 5 volunteers to help with Landscaping needs, such as pulling weeds. As well as help with a painting project.

17. Senior Resource Services –

Senior Resource Services gives seniors an opportunity to maintain their independence while balancing their health and family needs.

Project 1: SRS is requesting 2 volunteers to cross check addresses of their online mailing lists and update the information.

Project 2: SRS is requesting 1 volunteer to file client and volunteer packets.

18. SEVA Community –

SEVA Community is a grass-root, non-profit organization comprised of Greeley citizens who believe all children should have access to meaningful interactions with adults.

Project: SEVA is requesting 3 volunteers to scrape the railing, make minor repairs, and paint the railing on the SEVA House porch.

Project Date: Friday, June 15th
Project Time: 9am-Noon

19. Stampede Foundation –

The Greeley Stampede Foundation is a non-profit organization formed to support continuing education for Weld County students. Since beginning the program, the Stampede Foundation has awarded more than $370,000 in scholarships.

Project: The Stampede Foundation is requesting 10 volunteers to help set up the Stampede Western Art Show.

20. The Salvation Army –

The Salvation Army’s agenda is to meet human need without discrimination.

Project: The Salvation Army is requesting 10 volunteers to help paint and do general maintenance on the property.

Project Date: Saturday, June 16th (ALREADY FILLED)

21. Triangle Cross Ranch –

Triangle Cross Ranch (TCR) offers full time, year-round residency as well as respite care for adults diagnosed with a cognitive disability, including mild retardation, autism spectrum, Cerebral Palsy, Down’s Syndrome, seizure disorder, traumatic brain injury (TBI) or Prader-Willi Syndrome.

Project:  Triangle Cross Ranch is requesting 15-20 volunteers to paint houses/trim or build three sided sheds for shelters for goats and alpacas.

 22. United Way of Weld County Housing Navigation Center –

UWWC Housing Navigation Center is a place for those who are impacted by housing instability.

Project: The Housing Navigation Center is requesting 10 volunteers to help set up offices, clean the space, and organize donations.

Project Date: Friday, June 15th
Project Time: 9am-Noon


23. Weld County School District 6, Nutrition Services –

Nutrition Services supports student achievement by offering healthy, great-tasting meals and promoting overall wellness through nutrition education opportunities and connecting students to their food via Farm to School and School Garden programs.

Project: Nutrition Services is requesting 4 volunteers to help clean out and organize a tool shed, build a walkway to make one of their hoop houses wheelchair-accessible, and complete other garden related tasks.

24. Weld Food Bank –

Weld Food Bank is a non-profit organization which helps alleviate hunger and poverty by providing food and services to people in need.

Project: Weld Food Bank is requesting 20 volunteers to help bag produce, put together emergency food boxes, and/or sort food.
