As summer starts to wind down, we turn our thoughts to back to school time. Big kids go shopping for notebooks and pencils, new sneakers and jeans. But what about our littlest learners?

It can be tough to remember which skills little ones develop in which order, and what skills we should be encouraging them to do at what age. With our busy lives we don’t always have time to sit down and read an entire book chapter or online article about child development. That’s where Bright by Text comes in handy!

Bright by Text provides quality information and trusted resources to parents and caregivers of children prenatal to five, in English or Spanish. The text messages are made up of research-based content from Bright by Three, PBS, Vroom and our own Promises for Children at United Way of Weld County. No fancy smartphone or expensive data plan is needed, and the messages are always there to go back to when you have time to check them out.

The only information the program needs from you is your zip code (we personalize local messages when there are fun activities coming up!) and the child or children’s dates of birth. The messages are targeted to each child, ensuring you are getting only the tips you want and need. The program is for any caregiver, from parents to professionals to grandparents or babysitters! And you can always text “stop” at any time if you decide the program isn’t working for you.

Give it a try! Text BRIGHT or BRILLANTE (for Spanish) to 274448. Join thousands of caregivers nationwide accessing reliable information on our own time, in ways that work with our schedules!
