Americorps VISTA Host

What Can VISTAs Do For Your Organization?

Each VISTA member makes a year-long, full-time commitment to serve on a specific project or projects at a nonprofit organization or public agency. Organizations may receive a VISTA member for up to three consecutive years. VISTA members build the organizational, administrative and financial capacity of organizations that address the root causes of poverty.

Examples of projects for VISTAs include:

  • Creating print and digital marketing content to enhance or develop an outreach campaign.
  • Developing assessment tools to assist the organization in evaluating its programs.
  • Working with the organization’s staff to expand a current program or start a new program.
  • Assisting in writing grants and fundraising.
  • Assisting staff in planning and implementing a fundraising special event.
