Youth Committee Recruiting
United Way of Weld County is looking for exceptional high school youth (sophomore-senior) to serve on the Youth Allocations Committee for the 2011-2012 school year.  This committee will help make decisions on how to distribute over $17,000 to local non- profit agencies.  The money is raised in various ways throughout the schools in Weld County.  The purpose of the youth campaign is to include and empower youth to be a part of the annual county-wide effort to help children and youth connect people to services, assist people through crisis, and support them on their path to self-sufficiency.  The experience helps teach our youth leadership, citizenship skills, and instills values of caring, sharing, giving, and helping.

The goal of the Youth Allocations Committee is to provide students an educational experience that gives them a sense of belonging to the community and the opportunity to discover and respond to the needs of others.  Students who are interested in participating should contact Susan Van Deren at the United Way of Weld County by email at susanv@unitedway-weld.org by September 15th.
