History:

Founded in 1989, by United Way of Weld County, the Weld County Coalition for Children, Youth and Families was formed, bringing together over 30 agencies involved in the prevention, investigation, prosecution, and treatment of child abuse.

One of the key accomplishments was the development of the Protocol Manual, which has served as a comprehensive model for several other communities in Colorado.  It outlines best practices and agreed upon guidelines for reporting, investigating, and treating child abuse in Weld County.
