VISTA Project

The Weld County VISTA Project is a partnership between United Way of Weld County and AmeriCorps*VISTA which pays for 15 employees to work at non-profit organizations serving low to moderate income children, youth, families and adults in and around Greeley with a project leader housed at United Way.  Project members work in fundraising, marketing, volunteer management, event planning and program development to build the capacity of their host organization to serve the community. A portion of members’ living allowances is paid by United Way funds with the remaining portion of the living allowances and other employee benefits (health, education award, etc.) being paid for through a federal VISTA grant.  This VISTA grant is for a three-year term; the VISTA Project’s grant is set to expire in February of 2010 with an option to renew for an additional term.
