This AmeriCorps program works with at-risk students in a school or after school setting. Members generally tutor students, organize service learning opportunities, and serve as role models for students. Must be 18 years of age, high school diploma or GED, helpful to have experience in education, conflict resolution, teach/tutoring, working with youth, and/or with at-risk populations.
Volunteers will be part of an Americorps state program. They must volunteer a minimum of 300 hours over the course of a year. In exchange for their commitment volunteers will receive a $1000 education award to use towards future education or to repay student loans.
