Provides information and referral on the effectiveness of occupant protection, such as safety belt use, child safety seats, and automobile recalls. Gives referrals to other Government agencies for consumer questions on warranties, service, automobile safety regulations, and reporting safety problems. Works with private organization to promote safety programs. Provides technical and financial assistance to State and local governments and awards grants for highway safety . 8 a.m. - 10 p.m.
