Provides professionals and the general public with easily accessible information on all aspects of adoption, including infant and intercountry adoption and the adoption of children with special needs. NAIC maintains and adoption literature database, a database of adoption experts, listings of adoption agencies, crisis pregnancy centers, and other adoption-related services, as well as excerpts of State and Federal laws on adoption. Ultimately, NAIC's goal is to strengthen adoptive family like. NAIC does not place children for adoption or provide counseling. It does however, make referrals for such services. NAIC is funded by the Children's Bureau, Administration for Children and families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
