The Weld County Task Force is a multi-jurisdictional unit initially implemented during the 1990's with federal grant money provided through the Edward Bryne Memorial Foundation. The purpose of the task force is to provide a service to Weld County Law Enforcement agencies, filling the gap between street level narcotics enforcement and the federal level of enforcement. The administrative agency is the Greeley Police Dept. which provides the staffing of all supervisory positions. Presently the personnel is from Evans P.D., Weld County Sheriff's Office, Greeley P.D., and the Colorado National Guard. The Task Force supplies the drug investigation support, training for requested law enforcement agencies; information and training to schools; civic organizations and police sponsored citizen police academies. The Task Force also has a booth at the Weld County Farm Show on information regarding the state Marijuana eradication project.
