The Greeley/ E.O.D. Unit is designed to provide service to all of Weld County. The Unit is supervised by Sgt. Wesley Mellon and the Administrative Commander is Lt. David Spies and is made up of four Greeley Police Officers, and Weld County Sheriffs. Their duties include the detection, identification, rendering safe and the disposal of explosive ordinance/device. This includes the rendering safe and disposal of items that have become hazardous due to damage or deterioration. The Unit assists departments around the State of Colorado upon their request. The E.O.D. Unit responded to 19 bomb related calls. The unit also responded with the S.W.A.T. team for logistical support.
