Assists consumers, or their representatives, to obtain access to medically necessary services that many have been denied by a managed care organization. This is accomplished through education, information on consumer rights, and assistance with filing complaints and appeals. The primary goals of the Ombudsman are to resolve problems informally and to educate clients to advocate for themselves.
