Every person deserves a good life
United Way believes every person in Weld County deserves an opportunity for a good life. That starts with long-term goals focusing on early childhood development-making sure our children are ready to learn when they start school, youth success – supporting increased graduation rates and stabilizing and strengthening families from their most challenging times to their journey toward self-sufficiency.

As we begin a new calendar year please accept my gratitude and thanks to all of the companies, organizations and loyal individuals who support United Way of Weld County. Together we are making a difference in our community. We all win when everyone in our community thrives. It is up to everyone to work together and ensure children get a good education, those in need of food and shelter have a place to go and families are on a path to financial responsibility. Last year 25 percent of the people living in Weld County accessed a United Way service – more than 63,000 people. We all know someone who needs a helping hand. Your gift to United Way stays here in Weld County to help our friends, neighbors and co-workers.

Step up and join the movement
In the past twelve months, many of our family, friends and neighbors have struggled to thrive.  From my own family experience, 2011 was a difficult year.  A new inspiration came to our lives through the eyes of our three year old granddaughter, diagnosed with leukemia.  Last week, Siena with the innocence of a child, said, “Nana, take my quarter and give it to another little girl who needs medicine too.”  I invite you to stand up and join this movement of living united.  Everyone and every amount bring us together.

If you haven't yet made your gift to United Way, I would ask that you please consider doing so. It is never too late and there is no time like the present to make your contribution. The proceeds from the 2011-12 campaign help support 37 health and human service programs at more than 20 non-profit agencies. United Way wants to do everything it can to make sure immediate needs are taken care of, as well as long-term community challenges.

You can be assured your donation will be used to make the New Year just a little brighter for a child, for a family in crisis or for an elderly resident who hopes to stay independent. If you have already given a contribution to United Way of Weld County, thank you for your generous spirit and please know that every dollar counts

May 2012 find you content knowing you helped someone in need, right here in our community.
